n (1-16) lets you assign as many as 16 MIDI Controllers (1-31 and 33-119) as
MPX R1 controllers 1-16. This is a global parameter.
C (1-16) lets you select a MIDI Channel (1-16) for all Controller messages. This
is a global parameter.
To clear a Setup, go to Setup programming mode, and select the number of the
Setup you want to clear, and hold down the BYPASS button. All of the front panel
LEDs except 1/PITCH will turn off, indicating that the Setup has been cleared.
Example: Programming Multiple MIDI Program Changes
From Setup programming mode, press 1/GAIN and use the Yes/+ and No/–
buttons to select the number of the setup you want to edit.
1. Press the button for the desired device. The LED will blink green. The first
parameter (Program Change) will be indicated by PC on the display.
2. Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select a Program Change number.
3. Use the BANK buttons to select the next parameter, MIDI Channel.
4. Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select a MIDI Channel.
5. Use the BANK buttons to select the next parameter, Programs Per Bank.
6. Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select the appropriate number for the
connected device.
7. Use the BANK buttons to select the next parameter, Bank Change.
8. Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select the appropriate setting for the
connected device.
To program the Relay State, Song Select and Controller states as part of the
setup:
1. Press 0. The first parameter (reL) allows you to change the Relay State.
Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select the Relay State (1-4) you want
stored with the Setup.
2. Press the BANK Up button to display the Song Select parameter (SnG).
Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select the Song Select message (0-127)
you want stored with the Setup.
3. Press the BANK Up button to display the Controller state to be transmitted
(t __). Use the BANK buttons to select Controllers 1-16, and the Yes/+ and
No/– buttons to toggle the On/Off state of the Controller.
4. Press the BANK Up button to display the Controller to be assigned (n __).
Use the BANK buttons to select as many as 16 Controllers, and the Yes/
+ and No/– buttons to select Controller assignments 1-31 or 33-119.
5. Press the BANK Up button to display the MIDI Channel assignment
parameter (C __). Use the Yes/+ and No/– buttons to select a MIDI Channel
for transmission of all Controller messages.
Once all of the parameters have been set and you want to test this specific device
Program Change message, press the button you have selected to designate the
device. Once you press any other device button, this LED will light steady green
to indicate that information is stored at this location
Be sure to change the Program Load parameter in Edit Program mode to 5
Setups/Direct Access or to 6 Setups/Direct Device before you exit Edit mode.

update the rEL parameter in
Setup mode.
Application Note
If you assign buttons 0-9 to the
same MIDI Continuous Control-
lers and to the same MIDI Chan-
nel used in FX mode, the green
ON/OFF LEDs will update based
on the states stored with the
setup.
