3. TRANSPORT – The 6 transport buttons just below the displays are used for the record, playback, and
search functions of recorded material. They include STOP, RECORD, PLAY,
REWIND, FAST FORWARD, and UNDO.
4.TRACKS – A Track is an individual memory location in a song that you record audio to. The GNX4 has
eight individual tracks that can be recorded to.
5. DRUMS/MP3 – This button is used to start the GNX4's drum machine when the recorder begins
playing. When the button is lit green, the drum machine will playback the pattern or
MIDI file selected in the Song Setup menu. When this button is lit yellow, an MP3 file has
been selected in the Song Setup menu to start playing when the recorder begins playing.
(See the Song Setup section on page 70.) When this button is lit red, the selected
pattern, MIDI file, or MP3 file can be recorded to a track if one of the proper recorder
sources is selected. (See the (Compact Flash) CF/USB 1-2 Source section on page
64.)
6. LEVEL – Accesses the playback level for each track.
7. PAN – Accesses the pan controls for each track.
8. MASTER – This controls the stereo output playback level of tracks recorded on the Compact Flash card.
9. REMAIN – When this button is enabled, the TIME display shows the remaining recording time available
in track minutes when the recorder is stopped. When the recorder is playing back tracks, the
display shows the amount of time remaining in the current song.
10. CF STORAGE – This button is to be pressed first when files are to be copied to and from the
Compact Flash card and your computer's hard drive. When this button is engaged, the
compact flash card will appear as a new drive on your computer allowing files to be
transferred back and forth. Since file transferring will use up some USB bandwith, it is
not recommended that you record audio to the computer when this is active.
11. SONG SETUP – Accesses setup options for each song including Click Track, Tempo, Pre-Roll, Song
