The owners of used fluid are responsible for its proper disposal. Spent fluid from vacuum pumps may not be mixed with other substances. Spent fluids from vacuum pumps (Leybold’s petroleum-based oils) which are contaminated only as a result of normal wear and tear due to the effects of atmospheric oxygen, elevated temperature and mechanical strain can be dis- posed of in the same way as used motor oils.
