Description
This installation sheet includes information on the Excellence
Series intelligent addressable detectors shown in the table
below.
All models are loop powered and include an integrated
sounder with four configurable output levels and 32 selectable
tones. The -SNV models also include an integrated visual
alarm device (VAD) with three selectable power modes.

All models support the Kidde Excellence protocol and are
compatible for use with 2X-A Series fire alarm control panels
with firmware version 5.3 or later. The detectors are backwards
compatible with Aritech 2000 Series devices.
The detectors use an advanced optical sensing chamber to
detect smoke and (for dual optical/heat detectors) a fixed
temperature/rate-of-rise sensor to detect heat.
The detectors determine whether to signal a fire alarm
condition by analysing the data from the sensing chamber to
discriminate between fire and non-fire sources.
