Driveline Installation See Figure 9 Note: There are 3 types (A/B/C) of PTO drive shafts available. Type A shaft has inter-changeable ends for installation. Type B shaft is built with a safety pin which is designed to break off in the event of over-loading or excessive stress on the PTO shaft.
Page 26
Please follow the steps as below to hook up the PTO shaft: 1. Park tractor on a level surface. Slowly engage tractor 3-Point lift lever to raise Diggers until gearbox shaft is in line (level) with tractor PTO shaft. 2. Support Diggers deck at this height with support jacks or blocks to keep Diggers from drifting down. 3.
Page 27
See Figure 11 The driveline maximum allowable length must, when fully extended, have a minimum overlap (L2) of profile tubes by not less than 1/3 the free length with both inner and outer profile tubes being of equal length. Customize driveline See Figure 12 1.
Page 28
Driveline interference check See Figure 13 1. Slowly engage tractor 3-Point control lever to lower Diggers while checking for sufficient drawbar clearance. Move drawbar ahead, aside, or remove if required. 2. Raise and lower implement to find maximum extended driveline length. Check to make certain the driveline does not exceed the maximum allowable length and 25 °up or down.
OPERATION General Operating Instructions Clean and lightly grease the gearbox output shaft and the inner tube of the new auger. Align the bolt holes and slide the auger onto the gearbox shaft. Install and securely tighten the two shear bolts. Before performing any service or maintenance, lower digger to ground or block securely, turn off tractor engine, remove key, and disconnect drive-line from tractor PTO.
