Safety Safety Using the device The device is used for cleaning pipettes, burettes and other volumetric glassware up to a maximum length of 755 mm. The device works on the basis of low-frequency ultrasound and allows for very short sonication times. Sonication is usually carried out in combination with a suitable agent, which is added to the bath liquid.
Safety Damage to health due to ultrasonic noise The typical ultrasonic noise produced during a procedure can be perceived as very unpleasant. Remaining within a radius of 2 m for a long period of time may cause you to suffer damage to your health. •...
Safety Danger due to the agents used The agents used in the device can be toxic or corrosive. They can irritate eyes, skin and mucous membranes. The vapours and aerosols can also be dangerous. • Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling hazardous agents. •...
Safety Erosion of the oscillating tank The surface of the oscillating tank is subject to erosion. How quickly this erosion takes place depends on how the device is used. The erosion leads to leakage points in the oscillating tray. This allows bath liquid to enter the interior of the device. Moisture on electrical components can cause an electric shock or fire.
Safety 2.11 Interference with wireless communication The device may interfere with other wireless communication devices in close proximity, such • mobile phones; • Wi-Fi devices • Bluetooth devices If a wireless device malfunctions, increase its distance from the device. The device complies with the requirements for Class B devices according to EN 55011. 2.12 Safety stickers on the device •...

Preparation for operation Performing a functional test Requirement • The device must have adapted to the climatic conditions at the installation site for at least 2 hours. Procedure Plug the mains plug of the device into a grounded socket. Press the On/Off button to turn on the device Briefly switch on the ultrasound.
The ultrasonic agent used must be cavitation conducive, biodegradable, easy to dispose of, gentle on materials and long-lasting. BANDELIN recommends ultrasonic agents from the TICKOPUR, TICKOMED and STAMMOPUR product series from DR. H. STAMM GmbH.
Operation Pouring in sonication liquid NOTICE Danger of damage – Do not fill the oscillating tank with hot water. – Maximum filling temperature: 50 °C. NOTICE Damage due to condensate in the device At high humidity, condensate forms inside the device when cold water is poured in. –...

Operation 1 On/Off button to switch the device on/off 2 Filling level mark (x 2) 3 Outlet with ball valve Requirements • Stopcock must be closed. • Ultrasound must be switched off. Procedure Fill 1/3 of the oscillating tank with water. Dose the specimen into the oscillating tank.
Operation Switching sonication on and off Requirements • The oscillating tank is filled. • The mains plug is plugged into an earthed wall socket. Procedure If present, place the lid on the device. Press the On/Off button to turn on the device. Press the button to configure the sonication time until you reach the desired sonication time or the ∞...
Operation Switching the heating on and off WARNING Risk of scalding During heating, steam bubbles can rise explosively under certain conditions (retardation of boiling). - Occasionally stir the sonication liquid during heating, or switch on the ultrasound. - The lid used must not completely seal the oscillating tank – steam must be able to es- cape.

Operation Requirements • The oscillating tank is filled. • The mains plug is plugged into an earthed wall socket. • The appliance is switched on. The green "O" LED on the temperature scale will light up. Procedure Press the button for adjusting the heating temperature until the desired temperature between 20 and 80 °C is displayed.
Operation Avoiding retardation of boiling To avoid retardation of boiling, the ultrasound is automatically switched on once a minute for 3 seconds, to mix the liquid, when the temperature is above 60 °C. This function cannot be switched off. You can set this function to always be active when the heating is switched on, even at temperatures below 60 °C.
Operation Degassing the sonication liquid – DEGAS Sonication liquid that has been freshly poured in or that has remained in the oscillating tank for a long time must be degassed before use. Degassing the sonication liquid increases the effect of the ultrasound. The DEGAS function allows rapid degassing of the sonication liquid. Press the Start/Stop button for at least 2 seconds.
Operation Removing objects to be sonicated WARNING Risk of scalding The sonication liquid, the objects to be sonicated, the surface of the device and the acces- sories can be very hot. – Do not touch the surface of the device or accessories such as the cover. Do not reach into the sonication liquid.
Operation Emptying the oscillating tank WARNING Danger of electric shock - Disconnect the mains plug before lifting the device. - Do not place the device in a sink to empty it. - Make sure that no liquid can enter the housing. CAUTION Hot sonication liquid and oscillating tank There is a risk of scalding when lifting the device to empty it.
Operation 5.10 Enabling and disabling continuous operation You can lock this function to avoid continuous operation being accidentally switched on. Requirement • The mains plug is unplugged. Procedure Press and hold the button to adjust the sonication time. At the same time, plug the mains plug into the mains socket.
Operation 5.11 Troubleshooting Error Possible causes Troubleshooting Too little ultrasound • Sonication fluid • Degassing the sonication fluid. See effect, loud noises contains gases section 5.6 Degassing the sonication liquid – DEGAS. • There are too many • Reduce the number of sonication items. sonication items in the oscillating tank.
Maintenance Maintenance Servicing The device does not need to be serviced. Function tests can be performed for regular checks (see section 6.3 Tests.) Cleaning and care of the device Cleaning the housing • Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. Wipe it dry with a soft cloth. •...
Maintenance Tests NOTICE Damage to the device - Only carry out the tests listed in the following section on the filled device. If one of the tests does not lead to the desired result, contact the servicing team. See section 6.4 Repairs.

Approved accessories Approved accessories Required accessories, such as K 140 B basket and D 140 D lid, are already included in the scope of delivery. Do not place anything directly on the bottom of the oscillating tank. The exception to this is the special basket, which does not disturb the cavitation field or damage the tank bottom.
For ultrasonic application, special agents are required that are suitable for ultrasound, i.e. cavitation conducive, biodegradable, easy to dispose of, gentle on materials and long-lasting. BANDELIN recommends the TICKOPUR agents from DR. H. STAMM GmbH, which have been specially developed for ultrasonic application and make optimum use of the ultrasound.
