Introduction

Scare off unwanted visitors with this electronic guard dog! If movement is detected within the range of the radar sensor, an alarm signal of your choice is triggered. Read the manual carefully before using it and keep it for future reference.

Power supply

The alarm unit can be powered using either the supplied adapter or with batteries. This makes it suitable for use at locations without electrical outlets nearby.
Power supply

  1. To use with supplied adapter: Connect the adapter.
  2. To use with batteries: Open the battery compartment see (b) and insert 8 x 1.5 V DC AA batteries.

caution Attention: Remove the batteries if you will not be using the alarm unit for an extended period of time.

Setting the detection range

Open the battery cover of the alarm unit and use the switch to experimentally adjust the range of the radar sensor:

  • HI
    • < 6 m. from the front of the alarm unit
    • 9-16 m. from the back of the alarm unit
  • MID
    • < 4 m. from the front of the alarm unit
    • 6-9 m from the back of the alarm unit
  • LOW
    • < 2 m. from the front of the alarm unit
    • 3-6 m from the back of the alarm unit

Switching on the alarm

  • When the alarm unit is powered, the led POWER will light up.
  • To activate or deactivate the alarm, press the On/Off button at the top of the alarm unit. When the alarm is activated, the led ARM will light up.
  • To change the alarm signal, press the Select button.
  • Use the Vol + and Vol - buttons to change the alarm volume.
  • After switching the alarm unit in alarm mode, it takes about 15 seconds for the radar sensor to detect movement. This delay allows you to leave after the room without triggering the alarm unit.
  • If the alarm unit is triggered it will start alarming. Depending on the alarm signal you have selected, it will stop alarming a few seconds after them motion was detected.
    • Barking dog: Stops approx. 20 seconds after last motion detection
    • Police alarm: Stops approx. 50 seconds after last motion detection
    • Doorbell: Stops immediately after the last motion detection
  • To deactivate the alarm, press the On/Off button once. The led ARM will turn off. Depending on the selected alarm, the alarm unit will stop alarming a few seconds later.
    • Barking dog: Stops approx. 20 seconds after pressing the On/Off button.
    • Police alarm: Stops approx. 50 seconds after pressing the On/Off button.
    • Doorbell: Stops immediately after pressing the On/Off button.

General safety instructions and warnings

  • Use the product only for its intended purpose and as described in this document. Read this information carefully before using the product. Keep the booklet for future reference if necessary. Improper use may result in danger or serious injury.

  • This product is intended for indoor use only.
  • This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, cardboard buffers, etc.) out of the reach of children. Packaging materials are NOT toys. Plastic bags and foils can pose choking hazards. Thin films may stick to the nose and mouth and obstruct breathing.
  • This product contains a loud (approximately 100 dB) siren. Do not stand near the siren when it goes off. Close-range exposure may damage your hearing. Wear hearing protection when testing the alarm
  • Check that the voltage indicated on the adapter matches the local mains voltage before connecting the device.
  • Do not remove markings or make changes to the adapter, a dangerous situation may occur. Only use the adapter provided. If the adapter is damaged, always replace it (or have it replaced) with an adapter of the original type to avoid danger.
  • If batteries are damaged or leaking, avoid contact with skin or eyes. Rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention if the product does come into contact with skin or eyes. Wrong batteries or improper use may lead to corrosion or battery leakage, this may cause personal injury or damage to the product. Only use the type of batteries specified in this manual. If you believe batteries have been swallowed or inserted into any part of the body, seek medical attention immediately. DO NOT use the device if the battery unit casing is damaged, swollen or compromised. Examples include, but are not limited to, leaks, smells, dents, rust, corrosion, cracks, swelling, melting and scratches. Keep cells and batteries clean and dry. Dispose of a used cell or battery immediately according to regulations.
  • If the product becomes very hot, gives off an abnormal odour, changes colour or if charging takes much longer than usual, do not use or charge the product. Contact a specialist.
  • To avoid electric shock, do not open the casing of this product.
  • Make sure your hands are dry when grabbing adapters, plugs or a power cord, disconnecting equipment or turning on and off.
  • Disconnect the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
  • Do not clean when the unit is connected to the mains. Use a soft, clean and dry cloth during cleaning to avoid damage. Do not use (aggressive and/or chemical) cleaning agents or abrasives.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the electrical or mechanical parts of this product, doing so will void the warranty.
  • You must not reconstruct, repair or disassemble this product. Doing so may result in malfunction and electric shock.
