TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: AUTO PANEL PRY TOOL STEP | 01 LAYOUT AND INSTALL PREP 1.1 Open the Hood: Open the hood and prop in the upright position (FIG 1). NOTE - We like to use a 2x4 cut to about 34 inches. Be sure that it is secure and won’t slip out from where it is seated.

10MM WRENCH OR SOCKET TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: STEP | 01 LAYOUT AND INSTALL PREP 1.3 Remove Fender Bolt: On the side where you’re installing the first strut, locate the 10mm Fender Bolt as shown in FIG 5. Using a 10mm socket or open-ended wrench, remove the bolt and set aside (FIG 6).

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: POWER DRILL 3/16” DRILL BIT RUST PREVENTATIVE PAINT STEP | 01 LAYOUT AND INSTALL PREP 1.5 Drill Out Mounting Holes: Using the installed Hood Strut Bracket as a guide, drill out Mounting Holes using a 3/16” Drill Bit (FIG 9-10).

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: 10MM WRENCH OR SOCKET POP RIVET TOOL STEP | 02 INSTALL HOOD STRUTS 2.1 Reinstall Hood Strut Brackets: Use the 10mm Fender Bolt to reinstall the Hood Strut Brackets in place. 2.2 Rivet Hood Strut Brackets in Place: Place a Rivet inside each the Mounting Holes as shown in FIG 12 and use a Rivet Tool to rivet the Hood Strut Bracket in place (FIG 13-15).

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: 3/16” ALLEN WRENCH 7/16” SOCKET OR WRENCH STEP | 02 INSTALL HOOD STRUTS 2.3 Position the Lower End of the Strut: Position the the lower ball-end by pressing it through the Hood Strut Bracket in the orientation shown in FIG 16 + 17.

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: 13MM WRENCH OR SOCKET 12MM WRENCH STEP | 02 INSTALL HOOD STRUTS 2.6 Finish Washer Stacks: Cap the Upper Ball-End with another Oversized M8 Flat Washer and Nylon Locknut (FIG 20). The lower ball-end will take a Standard-Sized M8 Flat Washer and Nylon Locknut (FIG 21).

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: STEP | 03 FINAL CHECKS 3.1 Close the Hood: Gently close the hood to ensure smooth operation. 3.2 Reopen the Hood: Lift the hood to check if the struts support the hood automatically. Both struts should fully support the hood, making it easy to open and close without the need for manual support.
