Advanced CMOS Setup
Advanced CMOS settings let you define the following functions.
!
Video Out Type — Specifies the signal type used by the video device
connected to the TV Out Port.
!
LCD Panel View Expansion — Specifies whether the panel view is
reduced/off or expanded/on.
!
PS/2 Port Warm Swap — Specifies whether or not you can swap a
PS/2 device during system operation.
!
Internal Mouse — Specifies whether or not you can use both the
internal and the external mouse.
!
Graphics Aperture Size — Selects the graphics aperture size used by
the AGP video device.
System Security Setup
!
Change Supervisor Password — Establishes password protection for
entering the BIOS setup utility, booting the system, and resuming
from suspend.
!
Change User Password — Establishes a user password once a
Supervisor password is set.
!
Boot Password Required — Indicates whether or not a password is
required during system boot.
!
Resume Password required — Indicates whether or not a password is
required during system resume. Boot Password must be defined to
activate this parameter.
Power Management Setup
In the Windows 98 environment, your NEC Versa uses the Advanced
Power Management (APM) which enables the operating system to
manage the power given to each attached device and to turn off a device
when not in use.
The Power Management Setup menu lets you balance high performance
and energy conservation using parameters including the following.
