Recorded sounds such as speech and sound effects. These are
played back by the audio circuit's Digital-to-Analog Converter
(DAC).
digital sound
A description of a sound wave that consists of binary numbers.
digitizing
The process of converting an analog signal into a digital
representation.
diskette
A thin flexible platter coated with a magnetic material for storing
information.
diskette drive
A magnetic drive that writes on and retrieves data from a diskette.

enhanced VGA
A video interface that offers more colors or higher resolution than
VGA.
extended RAM
The area of RAM above the first megabyte of memory in the
system available for enhancing system performance.

Fast Infrared, an infrared technology that sends data at 4.0
