If you are connecting to your PC via USB or serial cable, continue

port, place the MobilePro so that the infrared port is within range
of the host PC infrared port.
Read the instructions about connecting your device and click

If you are connecting to your PC via serial cable or infrared port,
the host PC verifies the availability of a COM port or infrared
port.
Note
MobilePro, tap Settings, and Control Panel. Double tap the PC
Connection icon. At the PC Connection Properties screen, tap the
Change button. At the "Connect to desktop computer using:" prompt,
select the appropriate port.
For all connections, the host PC polls the MobilePro for
synchronization settings. The New Partnership window appears.
Continue to the next section, "Creating a Partnership" to complete the
installation.
Creating a Partnership
Once the host PC polls the MobilePro for synchronization settings, the
New Partnership window appears.
Click Next to display the Select Synchronization Settings window.

Select the desired synchronization settings and click Next. The
Setup Complete window appears.
Click Finish to complete the installation process.
