PREFACE 1. PREFACE Before assembly and before commissioning, read the entire text of the operating instructions. Use these instructions to familiarize yourself with the machine, its correct use and the safety instructions. 1.1 INFORMATION ON THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS This operating manual provides important information on handling vibratory plates. The prerequisite for safe working is correct compliance with all specified safety instructions and handling instructions.
INTENDED USE 1.3 NAME OF THE MACHINE The term “machine” replaces the commercial name of the object to which this operating manual - see cover page - refers. 1.4 COPYRIGHT All documents are protected by copyright. SECURITY Park the machine so that it cannot tip over, fall or slip. Guide the machine in such a way that you protect yourself from being crushed between the machine and the obstacle. Operate the machine on the edges of pits, dumps and embankments, on garage edges and on ledges in such a way that there is no risk of falling or tipping over.
SECURITY Carefully loosen the tank cap so that the existing pressure in the tank can slowly be released. Check the fuel lines, tank cap and tank for leaks or cracks. The machine must not be operated if there is such damage. Close the tank cap properly after refueling.

ASSEMBLY 7. ASSEMBLY 7.1 INSTALLING THE BASE PLATE EXTENSION (Figure A) The removable extensions make vibrating plates extremely versatile. Without extensions:high pressure and narrow - ideal for compacting base layers in the substructure as well as for trench compaction. With extensions:a reduction in ground pressure by increasing the surface area and is therefore also ideal for vibrating interlocking stone paving or leveling large areas.

This is the back side, the middle hole is for hooking the driving device. 7.3 INSTALLING THE GUIDE BRACKET (Figure C) The guide bar is already on the machine. For packaging reasons, the guide bar was mounted upside down on the drawbar.

ASSEMBLY 7.4 MOUNTING THE DRIVING DEVICE Only use the drive on level and solid ground and for short distances. Do not transport the machine on gravel or rubble.Danger of sinking! By rocking/pushing the machine forward on the guide bar - with the assistance of a second person - the driving device can be hooked into the base plate.

– To transport the machine, use only suitable lifting equipment with a minimum load capacity of 200 kg (RP-160HPC), 240 kg (RP-200HPC) and 300 kg (RP-300HPCA). – Secure the machine on the transport vehicle against rolling, slipping or tipping over and also lash it to the protective frame.
MACHINE TRANSPORT 9.1 TRANSPORT LOCK For transport with a vehicle or the driving device, the drawbar must be folded forward and locked using the transport lock. 9.2 ON MECHANICAL LIFTING – Before lifting, make sure that the lifting device is able to safely support the weight of the machine (see TECHNICAL DATA).
STORAGE BEFORE FIRST USE 10. STORAGE DANGER Do not store the machine with fuel in an unventilated area where fuel vapors can come into contact with flames, sparks, pilot lights, or other sources of ignition. If the machine is not to be used for more than 30 days, the following storage steps should be taken.

FUEL 12.2 GASOLINE DANGER Health and explosion hazards from combustion engines The engine exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide. Being in an atmosphere containing carbon monoxide can lead to unconsciousness and death. Do not run the engine in an enclosed area. Keep the engine away from heat, sparks and flames.

COMMISSIONING 13.1 PREPARATION FOR USE Before starting the activity and after 4 hours of use: – Check oil level and fuel, top up if necessary. – Check the condition of the air filter, the fuel lines and connections for leaks and mechanical damage, and the fuel tank for cracks and leaks.

COMMISSIONING 13.6 RECOMMENDATION FOR COMPACTION The number of passes necessary to achieve a desired compaction depends on the type and moisture of the soil. Maximum soil compaction has been achieved when excessive setback is noticeable. – When using a compaction machine on asphalt, a “water tank” is required. The water prevents the base plate from sticking to the hot asphalt.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by changes or modifications to the machine. To ensure safe and reliable operation, only original LUMAG spare parts may be used. The maintenance work for the engine is listed in the enclosed operating instructions.

MAINTENANCE 14.2 CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL Park the machine on a level surface and switch off the engine.DANGER! Be sure to disconnect the spark plug cable and secure it at a safe distance from the spark plug to avoid accidental starting.

MAINTENANCE 3. Unscrew the inner wing nut and remove the air filter elements. 4. Carefully remove the foam filter insert from the paper filter insert. Check both parts for damage. Replace any damaged inserts. 5. Clean the foam filter insert in warm water and a mild soap solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry well.
