SF 26PT • Setup Guide (Continued)
Installing the Mounting Hardware
1.
Locate a suitable mounting point for the SF 26PT, such as a pipe or an eye bolt.
2.
After determining the longest length of the two support cables that will be needed to attach the speaker to the structure
attachment points, cut the 30-foot PCC-2 cable so that the 2 steel cables and 2 speaker wires are all of the same length.
ATTENTION:
when attempting to cut through the steel cable. You must use a suitable cable cutter to cut the steel cable.
ATTENTION :
endommagé lors de la coupe du câble en acier. Vous devez utiliser une pince coupe-câble adaptée à ce type de câble.
NOTES:
• Be sure to allow extra cable length for the structure attachment points.
• For optional speaker hanging methods, see
Installation Kit
3.
Strip back as much of the PCC-2 outer jacket as needed.
4.
If the optional ceiling bracket is being installed, see
Bracket
Kit, otherwise continue with the next step.
5.
At the structure attachment point end of the support cables, route the cut
end of one cable through one end of the cable lock
cable around or through the attachment structure
as needed to allow the speaker to be positioned at the correct height. An
attachment example is shown below. Do this step for both cables.
6.
After ensuring that the cable is of sufficient length to position the speaker at
the proper installation height, run the free end of the cable through the open
end of the cable lock
step for both cables.
NOTE:
In order to ensure that the cable lock is not unintentionally
unlocked, keep the area within 2 inches of the cable lock in
all directions free of any other objects (see the
page 1).
To connect the speaker wires to the amplifier:
7.
On the cut end of the PCC-2 cable, strip 0.43 inch (11 mm) from the ends of
the protruding black and red wires. These wires will be inserted into the two
3-pole splicing connectors (included).
8.
Lift one lever of one 3-pole splicing connector
of the red speaker wire into an empty pole of the connector
lever down to lock the red wire in place
9.
Do the same with the second 3-pole splicing connector for the black speaker
wire.
10. Connect the speaker/amplifier wires to the 3-pole splicing connectors in
step 8.
a.
Strip 0.43 inch (11 mm) from the ends of the black and red amplifier
wires. These wires will be inserted into the two 3-pole splicing
connectors.
b.
The red speaker/amplifier wire connects to the splicing connector
wired to the red wire, and the black speaker/amplifier wire coming
from the junction box connects to the splicing connector wired to
the black wire.
NOTE:
Each pole of the splicing connector is capable of accepting
up to 12 AWG wire.
