Equipment Mounting
This section provides procedures for mounting the Annotator 300.
Mounting the Annotator 300
ATTENTION:
•
Installation and service must be performed by authorized personnel only.
•
L'installation et l'entretien doivent être effectués par le personnel autorisé uniquement.
The Annotator 300 can be set on a table, mounted in a rack, or mounted under a desk or table.
Tabletop Placement
Four adhesive rubber feet are included with the Annotator 300. For tabletop use, attach one foot at each corner
on the bottom of the scaler, and place it where desired.
Mounting Kits
Mount the unit using any optional compatible mounting kit listed on the Extron website (www.extron.com), in
accordance with the directions included with the kit. For rack mounting, see "UL Rack-Mounting Guidelines"
starting below.
UL Rack-Mounting Guidelines
The following Underwriters Laboratories (UL) requirements pertain to the installation of the Annotator 300 into a
rack.
CAUTION:
•
Elevated operating ambient temperature — If the equipment is installed in a closed or multi-unit rack
assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room
ambient. Therefore, consider installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum
ambient temperature (Tma) specified by Extron.
•
Reduced air flow — Install the equipment in the rack so that the amount of air flow required for safe
operation of the equipment is not compromised.
•
Mechanical loading — Mount the equipment in the rack so that uneven mechanical loading does not
create a hazardous condition.
•
Circuit overloading — When connecting the equipment to the supply circuit, consider the connection
of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that circuit overloading might have on overcurrent
protection and supply wiring. Consider equipment nameplate ratings when addressing this concern.
•
Reliable earthing (grounding) — Maintain reliable grounding of rack-mounted equipment. Pay
particular attention to supply connections other than direct connections to the branch circuit (such as the
use of power strips).
