General
1.1
This document describes the installation of
the 3U and 4U Closet Patch Panel (CPP-03U &
CPP-04U) manufactured by Corning Cable Systems.

updated corporate information.
NOTE: Read and understand this procedure (as well as
the instructions provided with related assemblies) before
beginning an installation. Familiarize yourself to
understand the unit's placement in your network. Make
sure you know where the cable will enter the unit, where
it will be placed in the utility rack, how jumpers will be
routed and other details of the installation plan.
2.
Description
2.1
The Closet Patch Panel (CPP) is a rack
mounted fiber optic connector housing designed for
use in premises applications.
2.2
Two versions of the CPP are available (Figure
1). Both units fit in either 19- or 23-inch racks. The
CPP-03U occupies three rack spaces. The CPP-04U

occupies four rack spaces.
2.3
The CPP-03U accepts up to six connector
panels and/or modules, while the CPP-04U will
accommodate up to twelve connector panels and/or
modules. Panels and modules are ordered separately.
2.4
Both units can be ordered with a locking rear
door or a key lock can be added at a later time.

2.5
Connectorized pigtails can be used when the
CPP is used in conjunction with a splice housing (p/
n CSH-03U, CSH-05U, CJH-02U or CJH-03U).
