CHANGING THE FUSES

Carefully read p. 39 (MAINTENANCE).
!
CAUTION
Do not repair faulty fuses.
Never use fuses different from the
recommended ones.
T h e u s e o f u n s u i t ab l e f u s e s m a y
damage the electric system or, in case
of short circuit, may even cause a fire.
NOTE
If a fuse blows frequently, there
probably is a short circuit or an overload in
the electric system.
In this case it is advisable to consult an
aprilia Official Dealer.
If an electric component does not work or
works irregularly, or if the engine fails to
start, it is necessary to check the fuses.
Check the 7,5 A and the 15 A fuses first
and then the 20A fuse.

To carry out the checking:
Remove the battery cover, see p. 58
(REMOVING THE BATTERY COVER).
Extract the fuses one by one and check if
the filament (1) is broken.
Before replacing a fuse, try to find out the
cause of the trouble, if possible.
Then replace the damaged fuse with a
new one having the same amperage.
NOTE
If you use one of the spare fuses,
put a new fuse in the appropriate seat.
Put back the battery cover, see p. 58
(REMOVING THE BATTERY COVER).
ARRANGEMENT OF THE FUSES
– 7,5A (2) fuse
From the ignition switch to: ignition.
√ 15A (3) fuse
From the ignition switch to: all light loads
and horn.
√ 20A (4) fuse
From the battery to: ignition switch,
voltage regulator, electric fan.
