Oil can cause serious damage to the
skin if handled every day and for long
periods.
Wash your hands carefully after using
oil.
In case any maintenance operation has
to be carried out, it is advisable to use
latex gloves.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF OIL IN THE ENVI-
RONMENT.
CAUTION
Proceed with care.
Do not spill the oil!
Take care not to smear any component,
the area in which you are working and
the surrounding area. Carefully remove
any trace of oil.
In case of leakages or malfunctions,
contact an Official Dealer.

TRANSMISSION OIL

Have the transmission oil level checked
every 6000 km (3750 mi).
It is necessary to have the transmission oil
changed after the first 1000 km (625 mi)
and successively every 12000 km (7500
mi).
To check the oil level and to change the oil,
contact an aprilia Official Dealer.

ENGINE OIL

Check the engine oil level every 1000 km
(625 mi), see p. 43 (CHECKING THE EN-
GINE OIL LEVEL AND TOPPING UP).
NOTE
Use high-quality oils, see p. 70
(LUBRICANT CHART).
The use of oils with SAE classifi-
cation 15W, 20W or 30W (and in any
case with density exceeding that of the
recommended oil) could make it diffi-
cult to start the vehicle if the ambient
temperature is below –5°C.
CAUTION
When topping up the engine oil, never
exceed the "MAX" level.
NOTE
The engine oil change warn-
ing light " " positioned on the dashboard
comes on after the first 1000 km (625 mi)
and successively every 3000 km (1875 mi),
signalling that it is necessary to change the
engine oil.
It is necessary to have the engine oil
changed after the first 1000 km (625 mi)
and successively:
– every 6000 km (3750 mi).
– every 3000 km (1875 mi).
