In some cases, an alert box may appear. This is because once the
password is cancelled; the host computer stops the connection with the
USB device and then, reconnects with it. This causes no matters.
Deleting User Password
When your host computer runs Windows XP or Windows 2000
Run the Setup Utility on the MP series and delete the user password. (See Chapter 5.)
When your host computer runs Windows Me
1.
Cancel the user password. (Refer to the previous section.)
2.
Stop the device. (Refer to the Stopping Device section.)
3.
Remove the DirectHD cable from the MP series and the host computer.
4.
Run the Setup Utility on the MP series and delete the user password. (See
Chapter 5.)
Deletion of the user password without canceling in advance will cause
the MP series to be recognized as a removable disk the next time you
access it using DirectHD function. To allow the MP series to be
recognized as an external hard disk, follow these steps.

Open the Password Utility and type the user password.
Click Cancel.
Stop the device.
Remove the DirectHD cable from the host computer.
Connect it again.
