Chapter 1
Basic Operating Procedures
When you power on the printer, it runs a self-test. Depending on how the
power-up state is configured, the printer will either be online or offline after
the test. The default power-up state is offline. When the self-test completes
and the software has initialized successfully "OFFLINE" appears in the
display.
If there is a fault during the self-test, the status indicator flashes and a
specific fault message appears on the display (such as "LOAD PAPER"),
also the alarm sounds if it is configured to. See page 86 for information on
fault messages.

Using the Control Panel

Use the control panel to perform routine operations:
Placing the printer in the online or offline mode
Advancing or retracting the paper, and setting the top-of-form
Clearing fault conditions
Configuring the printer
Running printer self-tests
