been removed and on l y fuel flows fro m the
f i l ter.
3. I nsta l l the fuel sed i ment bowl and b l eed the
system as outl i ne d u n de r " B l eed i n g the F ue l
Syste m . "
Chan ging the F ue l F i l ter:
fi l ter every 200 h o u rs.
1 . C l ose the sh u t-off va l ve, F i g u re 5.
2 . Re move the sed i m ent bow l , F i gure 40.
3. Open the fuel shut-off va l ve to d ra i n any
rem a i n ing water from the ta n k .
4 . D iscard the o l d el ement a n d i nsta l l a new
e lement.
5. I nsta l l and sec u re l y
bowl .
6. Open the f u e l s h u t-off va l ve so f u el wi l l f l ow to
the f i l ter.

B leed the f u e l system as fo l l ows:
1 . Be su re th ere i s adeq uate fuel in the fuel tan k .
2 . Open the fuel sh ut-off va l ve .
3 . Open t h e b l eed screws at the to p o f the f u e l
fi l ter ( F igure 40 ) a nd l et t h e a i r b u b b l es escape
from the screws. Then t ig hten b l eed screws.
4. Open the b l eed screw at the p u m p ( F ig u re 41 )
and let the a i r b u b b les esca pe , then c l ose the
b leed screw.
5. Push the hand th rott l e to the h ig h speed posi­
t i on . Tu r(l the · en g i n e over for a few seco nds to
bleed the h i gh p ressu re f u e l tube.
N OTE:
I f the tracto r d oes not start after
com p l et i ng the above b l eed i ng
fuel l i nes to each i njector may have to be
l oosened w h i l e cra n k i n g the eng i ne to com p l ete
b l eed i n g of the system . Tig h te n l i n es at i nj ec­
tors after co m pl et i ng b l ee d i n g .
