PREPARATION OF TRACTOR Three point linkage The three point linkage must be strong enough when working with the plough. The maximum torque acting on the three point linkage is approximately 47.000 Nm (4.700 kpm) during turnover operation. Adjust lift rods to equal length. (See manufacturer’s instructions.) Check Chains or Sway Blocks Check chains or sway blocks MUST be adjusted so that the lower links are fixed in their middle position.
For the operation of the control block the tractor must be equipped with a constant flow-system, a constant pressure-system or a Load-Sensing-System. 3.5.1 Required spool valves (with electric turnover control) Single acting Double acting Implement sided spool valve spool valve coulour marking Turnover device Hydr.
ELECTRIC TURNOVER CONTROL The plough frame can only be turned when the electric turnover control will be supplied with power. See section „Socket“. With the electric turnover control it will be ensured that via the sensor (SF) at the chassis the plough frame will be turned only when the rear plough frame is lifted. The sensor (SD) at the turnover device ensures that the turnover procedure will be interrupted immediately when the rear plough frame will be lowered during turnover procedure.
ELECTRONIC PLOUGH CONTROL The turnover device, the trailer hydraulic and the locking and lifting procedure of the rear plough frame controlled automatically via the electronic plough control SVT-R 360. The plough control consists of a job computer (JR) and an operator terminal (BT).
Operator terminal The operator terminal (BT) is connected to the job calculator (JR) via the plug (JK) and the connection cable. After operating the switch (EA) and connecting the connection cables to the plough according to DIN 9680 the plough is ready to work.
Rotary potentiometer and sensors In order to ensure a troublefree handling of the plough on the headland, each hydraulic function will be controlled by rotary potentiometer (DP) sensors (SF) and (SH). rotary potentiometer placed behind the turnover mechanism and the sensors in the area of the trailer.
ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE PLOUGH Attaching to the Tractor Attach the plough which must be parked in half-turned working position as follows: Set tractor hydraulics to 'Position − Control'. Attach lower links to the drawbar (13) − and secure. Fit top link and adjust its length so that −...
• Before the first turnover operation the upper hydraulic ram must be completely extended! The hydraulic ram is completely extended when the distance between the centre of the mounting pins is approx. 103 cm! Detaching from the Tractor The plough must always be parked in middle position and on level and firm ground.
TURNING OF THE PLOUGH FRAME Turning via the electric turnover control In combination with the electric turnover control the hydraulic rams (21) of the turnover mechanism must connected to a separate double acting spool valve via its hydraulic hoses. To turn and to reverse the plough, operate as follows: •...
TURNING ON HEADLANDS When the headland – which should be 20 m to 25 m wide depending on the tractor and the No. of furrows of the plough – is reached, the tractor will be steered to the ploughed land, the front plough frame lifted in front and then a) in combination...
TRANSPORT Plough with electric turnover control For transport the front plough frame will be lifted in front and rear and after that the rear plough frame lifted completely. Now the plough frame will be turned into middle position = transport position. After that the power supply of the sensors and the magnet valve (MV) must be interrupted by means of...
General Instructions marker boards lighting equipment when using public roads. Do not lift the plough fully in front. (The distance between the drawbar and the ground must be in the range of 95 cm to 100 cm). Set the control levers of the spool valves in such a position that unintentional operation is impossible.
OF-CONVERSION The OF-conversion will be done with plough fitted to the tractor. 10.1 OF-Conversion, hydraulically - (up to 31.12.1999) 10.1.1 From F-operation to O-operation Lift the front and the rear plough frame completely turn working position. Open hydraulic ram (OF) completely and secure the spool valve concerned against unintentional operation.
10.2 OF-Conversion, mechanically - (from 01.01.2000 on) 10.2.1 From F-operation to O-operation Lift the front and the rear plough frame completely turn working position. Set tractor in an angle of 90° to the plough frame and lower plough frame in front and rear. Unlock and remove securing pin (VB).
10.2.2 From O-operation to F-operation Lift the front and the rear plough frame completely and turn to working position. Turn depth wheel (SV) into the middle position. Move stop (74) against the direction of the arrow until the lug on the bracket grips the recess in the stop, see (Y).
10.2.3 Front depth control wheel The front depth wheel (SV) should be locked for F-operation, see Section 10.2.2 "O-operation to F-operation". When working onland it swings away from the stop and over to the opposite working position during turnover procedure. Via a spring (RF) the depth control wheel will be moved in working position against the stop (GA).
ADJUSTMENTS 11.1 Distance between tractor and furrow wall in O-operation During work the distance between tractor and furrow wall will be adjusted by means of the turnbuckle (19). • Turnbuckle longer = wider distance • Turnbuckle shorter = narrower distance 11.2 Front furrow width in F-operation The front furrow width will be adjusted by means of the turnbuckle (19).
11.3 Working depth The working depth will be adjusted via the front depth wheel (SV), the trailer (FW) and the rear depth wheel (SH). The trailer is provided with a pin adjuster on the right and left side, which must be adjusted identically.
11.4 Pull-point adjustment By means of changing the position of bolt (ZP) the vertical pull-point can be adjusted: Fit bolt (ZP) in a higher hole (BZ) => higher pull point. Fit bolt (ZP) in a deeper (BZ) => deeper pull point. After each adjustment the pins must be fitted again and secured.
11.6 Working width 11.6.1 VariTitan The working width of the VariTitan plough is variably adjustable by means of the hydraulic ram (23) and that from 30 cm up to 55 cm per body. Narrower working width per furrow => close the ram (23) Wider working width per furrow =>...
SHEARBOLTS All semi-mounted reversible ploughs are fitted with shearbolts (40) as standard. IMPORTANT: Only genuine LEMKEN shearbolts should be used. There is a serious risk of damage if other bolts are used and any warranty will be void. Be very careful of the guillotine effect of a pivoting leg assembly and its support plates.
AUTOMATIC NON-STOP OVERLOAD SAFETY DEVICE 13.1 Mechanic overload Non-Stop safety device The automatic overload safety device protects the plough from damage when obstacle encountered. mechanism breaks back upon impact and automatically returns the body to the working position once the obstacle has been passed.
13.2 Hydraulic NON-STOP overload safety device “HydriX” With the hydraulic adjustable overload safety device operation pressures can be adjusted, a minimum operation pressure, i.e. for shallow ground and light soil conditions, and a maximum operation pressure, i.e. for heavy soil conditions. 13.2.1 Adjusting the operation pressure After connecting the adjusting valve unit...
13.2.2 Operation During work the plough bodies will be kept in working position via the rolling system. When touching an obstacle the plough body trips upwards, therewith the oil will be led into the hydro-reservoir. If several bodies trip a the same time, the oil cannot be kept by the hydro-reservoir.

• Read and adhere to the General Safety Instructions as well as to the Instructions “Hydraulic equipment”! • If required, the hydraulic system may only be made pressureless by operating the relief valve, the tractor spool valve must be set to floating position then.
BODIES 14.1 Penetration angle The distance between share points and plough frame should be the same with all bodies. Required adjustments will be done with the bolt (54) and the clamp bolt (XX). When the penetration of the plough is unsufficient, set the bodies “steeper”...
SKIM COULTERS 15.1 General instructions The skim coulters (65) should be set to a depth between 5 and 10 cm (2 - 4 in) and the tip of the point set to run 2 - 3 cm (3/4 - 1 1/4 in) to the landslide of the body. In combination with the angle adjustment the pivot bracket (SK) can be screwed to the bracket (K) in three different lateral...
15.3 Angle adjustment The angle is not adjustable with those skimmers which have their flat stalk fitted directly to the leg bracket or beam. Otherwise the angle is either steplessly adjustable by means of the clamping bolts (69) for skimmers with round stalks (68) or in steps by means of the adjuster pins (75) with skimmers having flat stalks (66) and angle adjuster (76).
TRASHBOARDS Bolt carrier (78) of the trashboard (77) to the holes provided in the top of the mouldboard. Fit trashboard (79) to the carrier and adjust for optimum trash 'mix'. Adjust support-bolt (80) so that it touches the leg. Secure bolt (80) by means of locknut (81).
COULTERS 17.1 Sword Coulters The sword coulters (83) will be fitted in front of the landslide (84) to the frog of the plough body (50). 17.2 Disc coulters The disc coulters (93) should be set to a working depth of 7 - 9 cm (2 3/4 - 3 1/2 in) and 2 - 3 cm (3/4 - 1 1/4 in) laterally to the landslide of the body.
WIDE FURROW CUTTERS If the tractor is equipped with wide tyres, it is recommendable to use a wide furrow cutter (BFM). This wide furrow cutter must be fitted to the landslide (84) of the rear body. If the plough is equipped with C-bodies, to the rear body the landslide 340 1450 must be fitted so that the holder (HL) or (HR) of the wide furrow cutter can be fitted.
SUBSOILERS The subsoiler UD6 will be fitted as shown in the sketch. By means of displacing the stalk (102) the working depth of the subsoiler can be adjusted. Maximum working depth = 20 cm Minimum working depth = 14 cm For the adjustment of the working depth the pin (104) must be unlocked and pulled out and the stalk (102) removed accordingly in the bracket...
TYRES The recommended maximum or minimum allowed pressures are listed below. Wheel Profile Ply-rating min. pressure max. pressure (PR) (bar) (bar) 10.0/75-15.3 405/70R20 400/60-15.5 T-404 Do not work with more and less pressure than stated as maximum and minimum allowed air pressure, in order to prevent an overload of the tyres and subsequent damage.
