    HYUNDAI 1. SAFETY WARNING! Make sure that you are familiar with the controls and properly operate the machine. You must learn how to stop the machine quickly. This machine produces an electromagnetic field during operation. This field may under some circumstances interfere with active or passive medical implants.

    HY0340, HY0389 1.6 MAINTENANCE SAFETY WARNING! Improper handling of this tool may lead to electrocution. Risk of short circuit! Fluids that enter the housing can cause a short circuit. NEVER spray the lawnmower with water or a pressure washer and ensure that no water or other fluids enter the housing.

    HY0340, HY0389 3. ASSEMBLY 3.1 ATTACH EDGING WHEEL NOTE   Ensure the battery is disconnected during assembly. To assemble the edging wheel: The trimmer head has two sides, one with black plastic molding and one without. Fit the edging wheel onto the trimmer head (the side without black molding).

    HYUNDAI Insert the screw provided into the hole, securing tightly. NOTE   Shake the trimmer head gently to ensure it stays in place. 3.3 ATTACH FRONT GUARD AND AUXILIARY HANDLE To assemble the front guard and auxiliary handle: Insert the front guard into its guided slot.

    HY0340, HY0389 4. OPERATION 4.1 MACHINE ADJUSTMENT NOTE   Before operation, please read and understand this entire user manual. The HY0374 is adjustable for all user heights. To adjust the height of the trimmer: Twist the adjustment collar counterclockwise to loosen.

    For a crisp edge, start rotating the string trimmer head a few inches away from the lawn edge before walking down the line. 4.3 STARTING AND STOPPING The HY0340/HY0389 is a two-handed string trimmer, never operate this machine one- handed. Follow these steps to start and stop the trimmer: Before operation, ensure the auxiliary handle is in a comfortable position.

    HY0340, HY0389 4.4 AUTOMATIC LINE FEED Every time the power trigger is activated, the trimmer line will automatically spool out. The machine will also cut the line with the built-in line cutter to ensure optimal length. Review the Replacing the Trimmer Line chapter of this manual for instructions on how to replace trimmer line within a spool.

    HYUNDAI 5. INSTALLING OR REMOVING BATTERY NOTE To install the battery, align the battery with the groove in the battery ƒ mount and slide into place. Insert all the way until it locks with an audible *click*. Do not install the battery forcibly. If it does not slide in easily, it is not being inserted correctly.

    HY0340, HY0389 6.1 REPLACING THE TRIMMER LINE OR SPOOL (HY0389 ONLY) ATTACH DETACH INSERT wire length: 5m Follow these steps to safely replace the trimmer line or spool: Squeeze the two side tabs on the spool cover. Pull the spool cover and spool out.

    HY0340, HY0389 6.3 EXTEND SNAPPED TRIMMER LINE HY0389 HY0340 If the trimmer line breaks and becomes too short, you can manually extend the trimmer line. Follow these steps to safely extend the trimmer line: Press the small button located on the side of the trimmer head.

    HYUNDAI 7. STORAGE Follow these steps after each use for best results. Allow the machine to cool down. Remove any trimmings or other debris after each use, taking special care to clean any ventilation openings. Use a clean, dry cloth to remove dirt, grease, etc.

RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL You must comply with local regulations for the disposal of packaging, oils, fuel, filters, damaged parts or any elements which have a strong impact on the environment. This waste must not be disposed of as normal waste. It needs to be separated and taken to specified waste disposal centers where the material will be recycled.
