are caught between the follower plate and container.
Keep hands clear of this area.
• Personnel must know how to safely operate the elevator
control valve on the unloader.
• When operating the elevator controls, it is important to
remember that NEUTRAL is not a locked and secured
position. The follower plate may drift downward over
time.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the follower plate and
seals, never use a damaged material container.

How To Change a Container
See Figure 1. The unloader shown in Figure 1 may have
additional options. Contact a Nordson representative with
any questions.
1. Set the air motor lockout valve (13) to OFF.
2. Place the ram direction control switch (14) in the
NEUTRAL position.
3. Perform the following:
• Remove the bleeder stem (5) from the bleeder stem
fi tting (6).
• Connect the blow-off tube (4) to the bleeder stem fi tting
(6).
• Connect the blow-off air line (2) to the blow-off tube (4).
4. Place the ram direction control switch (14) in the RAM
UP position.
NOTE:
• If the container begins to rise off the unloader frame,
place the ram direction control switch (14) in the
NEUTRAL position to allow the container to return to the

frame. Then, place the ram direction control switch (14)
in the RAM UP position.
• Once the follower leaves the container, ram down
movement will be disabled. The ram direction control
switch (14) can still be placed in the NEUTRAL position.
5. Press and hold both two-hand control buttons (9) at the
same time to start automatic ram movement.
