Remove Packing Gland

SD2/SD3 Packing Gland Change
WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow
the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation.
Refer to Table 1 for the items required to perform this procedure.

Metric Hex Key Set
See Figure 1.
NOTE: If necessary, perform container change before removing the packing
gland. Refer to the appropriate Rhino container change operator's card for
detailed procedures.
Set the air motor lockout valve (3) to ON.
1. Operate the air motor until the split coupling (7) is accessible.
Set the air motor lockout valve (3) to OFF.
2. Place the ram selector switch (4) in the Neutral position and shut off the
compressed air.
3. Depending on the system, perform one of the following:
a. Open the ball valve (1) or,
b. Open the bleed valve (2) no more than three turns.
4. Bleed the hydraulic pressure through the valve (1 or 2) and dispense gun(s).
Leave the valve (1 or 2) open.
5. Remove the coupling screws (6) securing the split coupling (7) to the plunger
rod and floating joint coupling.
6. Drain the solvent chamber cup (5).
7. Set the air motor regulator to 0 bar/psi.
