7 (34) 3. Safety instructions Please bear in mind that safety is the result of several factors. The loader-attachment combination is highly powerful and improper or careless use or maintenance may cause serious personal injury or property damage. Due to this, all operators must carefully familiarise themselves about correct use and the operator's manuals of both the loader and the attachment before starting operation.

8 (34) Pay attention to the surroundings and any other persons and machines moving in the vicinity. Pay attention to the contours of the terrain and other hazards, such as branches and trees that can reach to the driver's area, loose rocks, and slippery surfaces.
9 (34) Entanglement and severing hazard - Never go near a running attachment. The powerful rotating shaft can cause serious injuries to anyone too close to it. Always stop the attachment following the safe stopping procedure before going near the attachment. If WARNING being near a running attachment is absolutely necessary to determine the condition of the attachment watching from a distance, or fault finding operation, never wear loose...
10 (34) 3.2 Safe shutdown procedure Safe stopping of the attachment, before going near the attachment: Always stop the attachment following safe stopping procedure before leaving the driver's seat. 14 (34) 4.2 Lifting Make sure that the attachment is properly secured against unintended movements during lifting operation. Use appropriate type of lifting accessories, lifting straps, chains or hooks, for example. Do not use lifting accessories if there are signs of damage, deformation, or otherwise unsafe conditions.
Do not stay in the area between the attachment and the loader. Mount the attachment only on level surface. WARNING Never move or lift an attachment that has not been locked. Avant quick coupling system: Step 1: Lift the locking pins of the quick coupling plate of the loader up, and turn them backwards into the slot, so that they are locked in the upper position.
5.1 Connecting and disconnecting hydraulic hoses On Avant loaders the hydraulic hoses are connected using the multi connector system. If you have an older model Avant 300-700 series loader with the conventional quick couplers, and you want to change to the multi connector system, contact your Avant dealer or service point for instructions or installation services.

17 (34) Keep all fittings as clean as possible; use the protective caps on both the attachment and the loader. Dirt, ice, etc. may make using the fittings significantly more difficult. Never leave the hoses hanging on the ground; place the couplings onto the holder on the attachment.
18 (34) 5.2 Electric connection Electric functions of the attachment: As standard, the Snow broom is equipped with hydraulic side slewing. The turning system can be controlled with the standard electric harness that is supplied with the attachment, Opticontrol® system, or the Attachment control switch pack of the loader.

19 (34) If your loader is equipped with the Opticontrol ®, the Attachment control switch pack, and the loader is manufactured after 2016: electric socket integrated multiconnector, electric harness attachment is connected when the multiconnector is coupled. Clean both multiconnectors before connecting the multiconnector.
20 (34) 6. Using the broom Check the attachment and the operating environment once more before starting to work, and that all obstacles have been removed from the operating area. Quick inspection of the equipment and the operating area before use are parts of ensuring safety and the best performance of the equipment.
21 (34) 6.1 Safety distance The minimum safety distance from the attachment is 5 metres. Stop the attachment immediately if bystanders get within the safety distance. 24 (34) Starting the broom Risk of injury from thrown objects and entanglement - Check surroundings before starting the broom. The broom can throw sand, rocks, or other objects at high speed. Check that there is no one in front of the broom. Always direct the broom away WARNING from people and anything that can get damaged, such as cars, buldings, or other fragile surfaces.
25 (34) 6.4.1 Broom slewing The hydraulic slewing is available as standard. The broom can be turned to either side by 30 degrees. The slewing can be only used when the broom is rotating. The broom slewing can be used to push material aside, or to make it easier to operate near walls or other obstacles.
26 (34) 6.4.2 Broom floating system The 1500 and 2000 models are equipped with mechanical sideways floating system, which allows the broom to follow the surface of the terrain. The attachment floats automatically ± 5 degrees sideways for better handling and contact with the ground.
27 (34) 6.4.4 Support wheels The height of the support wheels can be adjusted by using the plastic sleeves on the vertical axles of the wheels. It is not necessary to uncouple the attachment from the loader while adjusting the height. To adjust the height: 1.
28 (34) 6.5.1 Storage supports Both storage supports must be lowered when disconnecting the broom, and both supports must be lifted before using the broom. To store the broom, lower it on an even surface, where it cannot move by accident. Set the outriggers (1) to lower position first and then lower the attachment on the pallets.
Finding any fault means that the hydraulic hose or component must be replaced and the equipment must not be used until it is repaired. Spare parts are available from your nearest AVANT retailer or authorised service point. Leave the repair work to professional service technicians, if you don’t have adequate knowledge and...
30 (34) 7.2 Cleaning and lubricating the attachment Clean the broom as soon as possible after use, so that it is easier to remove all dirt. A pressure washer and mild detergent can be used. Avoid using solvents or spraying directly at the bristles or hydraulic parts at high pressure.
31 (34) 7.3 Brush The material of the brush bristles is nylon and in normal operating conditions the brush will last long before need for replacement. As the diameter of the brush decreases, its circumferential velocity decreases as well, and at some point it becomes insufficient for throwing material efficiently. The brush consists of several parallel discs connected on a shaft.
32 (34) 8. Warranty terms Avant Tecno Oy grants a warranty of one year (12 months) from the date of purchase for the attachment it manufactures. The warranty covers repair costs as follows: Work costs are covered, if the repair is not performed at the factory.
