Upon completion of power-up, the ESPE will enter the MACHINE RUN state
as soon as the detection zone is clear of opaque objects of the specified
size.
The IR light sensing area of the ESPE. When a specified test piece enters
this area then the ESPE must detect its presence and set its safety outputs
to the OFF-state.
An assembly of devices and/or components working together for protective
tripping or presence sensing purposes and comprising as a minimum:
• a sensing device
• controlling/monitoring devices
• output signal switching devices
When the ESPE detects a fault, it transitions to this state. The OSSD will be
held to the OFF-state and the ESPE will not attempt to leave this state with-
out performing a comprehensive power up self-test. A power-up self test will
be initiated by either cycling the ESPE power or by a Start signal transition.
When the ESPE is in this state, the two OSSD are both active. In this state
the Green MACHINE RUN LED is on, the red MACHINE STOP LED is off
and the Yellow INTERLOCK LED is off.
When the ESPE is in this state, the two OSSD are both inactive. In this state
the Green MACHINE RUN LED is off, the Red MACHINE STOP LED is on.
The state in which the output circuit is interrupted and does not permit the
flow of current.
The state in which the output circuit is completed and permits the flow of cur-
rent.
The safety output of the ESPE that is used to enable and disable the
guarded machine.
The maximum amount of time required for the ESPE to set its OSSD outputs
to the OFF-state once the detection zone is blocked by an opaque object of
the specified size.
Upon completion of power-up, the ESPE must go to the "INTERLOCK" state.
A Start signal transition must occur before going to MACHINE RUN for the
first time. Once the first Start condition has been met, the ESPE will operate
in the Automatic Start mode.
The ESPE will go into the INTERLOCK state upon completion of power-up
and during zone violations which causes a transition to the MACHINE STOP
state. A Start signal transition must occur before returning to MACHINE RUN
following any transition to MACHINE STOP.
