The 9A models that are covered in this manual are intended for installation in an environment within 0 to 40 °C, free of conductive contaminant. Please check section "6.1 Equipment care", page 28, for additional information.

    9A UPS 1-3K Installation 3.1 Inspecting the equipment If any equipment has been damaged during shipment, keep the shipping cartons and pack- ing materials for the carrier or place of purchase and file a claim for shipping damage. If you discover damage after acceptance, file a claim for concealed damage.

    9A UPS 1-3K 1. 9A1000I / 2000I: connect the UPS input socket (250V - 10A) to the AC-power source ② using the cable of the protected equipment. 9A3000I: connect the cable (250V - 16A) to the UPS input socket , then to the AC-power source.

    9A UPS 1-3K B-Connecting the EBM 1. Plug the EBM power cable(s) into the battery connector(s). Up to 4 EBMs may be con- nected to the UPS. 2. Verify that the EBM connections are tight, and that adequate bend radius and strain relief exist for each cable.

    To increase stability, it is preferable to place the EBM below the UPS. Extension Battery Module (EBM) Eaton 9AEBM24R is compatible only with 9A1000IR UPS, Eaton 9AEBM48R is compatible only with 9A2000IR UPS and Eaton 9AEBM72R is compatible only with 9A3000IR UPS. UPS must be switched off and disconnected from the power supply prior to battery installation.

    9A UPS 1-3K 4.2 LCD description In order to make sure all segments are OK, LCD begins to do self-test after power on. During self-test, all the segments will be lighted for 2 seconds, then the LCD will turn to normal display status.

    9A UPS 1-3K 4.3 Measurement and working mode display The front panel will be used to display some important information of UPS. The LCD first show the “STbY” mode (standby mode) after UPS connected to AC power source, turn on the UPS and press the function button repeatedly to display a different display screen until the desired screen appears.

    2. Connect the other end of the communication cable to the USB or RS232 communication port on the UPS. The UPS can now communicate with Eaton power management software. USB communication is higher priority than RS232, that means when USB and RS232 are connected at the same time, the RS232 communication will be disable and only USB communication is enable.

    6.3 When to replace batteries Eaton UPS batteries have an expected life span of 3-5 years. After 4 years operation, you should take proactive steps to ensure batteries replacement for optimal operation and reli- ability,contact your service representative to order new batteries.
  • Page 37 9A UPS 1-3K Consider all warnings, cautions, and notes before replacing batteries. • Battery replacement should be performed by qualified service personnel knowledgeable of batteries and required precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries. • When replacing batteries, replace with the same type and number of batteries or battery packs.
