Removing the PHM from the CPU Socket
Before removing the PHM from the motherboard, be sure to shut down the system and unplug
the power cables from the power supply. Then follow the steps below:
1. Starting with two screws on opposite corners, use a T30 screwdriver to loosen the
PEEK nuts on the heatsink. To prevent damage to the CPU, use a torque screwdriver
set to 9.2 kgfcm (8.0 lbf-in) with a Torx T30 screw head bit.
2. Once the PEEK nuts are loosened from the CPU socket, press the rotating wires
inwards to unlatch the PHM from the socket as shown in the drawings below.
3. Gently pull the PHM upwards to remove it from the CPU socket.
