    ERVER 5017R-iHDP User's Manual Motherboard Features At the heart of the SuperServer 5017R-iHDP lies the X9SCFF-F, a single processor motherboard based on the Intel® PCH C204 chipset. Below are the main features of the X9SCFF-F. See Figure 1-1 for a block diagram of the chipset.

    Preparing for Setup The box the SuperServer 5017R-iHDP was shipped in should include two sets of rail assemblies, six rail mounting brackets and the mounting screws you will need to install the system into the rack. Follow the steps in the order given to complete the installation process in a minimal amount of time.

Therefore, consideration should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the manufacturer’s maximum rated ambient tempera- ture (Tmra).

All motherboard jumpers and connections are also described. A layout and quick reference chart are included in this chapter for your reference.

When unpacking the board, make sure the person handling it is static protected. These include the data cables for the peripherals and control panel and the power cables. Connecting Data Cables The cables used to transfer data from the peripheral devices have been carefully routed to prevent them from blocking the flow of cooling air that moves through the system from front to back.
