OPERATION MANUAL AND SAFETY INFORMATION
This operation manual describes how to start up the Burmester
232
integrated amplifier.

The 232 has a setup assistant that guides you through the set-up process on the
device display.
Please read this operation manual in full and keep it in a safe place.

Connecting and starting up the 232
Insert all connectors before switching on the 232 .
Place the 232 on a flat, stable surface. Do not use the 232 outdoors.
1.
Connect your analogue source devices to the analogue inputs (blue) of the 232 .

Note: In order to play back digital sources, the optional digital module
must be installed. To play vinyl records (MC), the optional phono module
must be installed.

Connect your speaker to the speaker outputs (orange) on the 232 using
prefabricated loudspeaker cables with spade lugs. Observe the correct polarity
(plus to plus, minus to minus). Make sure that the connections are secure.
Note: The insulation on your selected speaker cable must match that of the original
Burmester loudspeaker cable and must have a flame rating of at least VW- 1 .
4.
Set the mains switch on the rear of the device (green) to "OFF". Connect the 232 to
the mains and set the mains switch to "ON".
5.
Switch the 232 on by pressing the rotary encoder (red).
6.
Follow the instructions on the display to select the source.
7.
Control the playback volume by turning the rotary encoder (red).

INTENDED USE
The Burmester 232 is intended for use in home music systems.
PERMISSIBLE OPERATING CONDITIONS
Please take care to only ever use your Burmester product under the following
conditions:
Maximum altitude: 2000 m
Humidity < 50 %
Temperature range: 20 – 30 ° C
Important information
RISK OF INJURY!
The device is very heavy. Take care when unpacking and
setting it up!
RISK OF INJURY AND SUFFOCATION!
The device is not suitable for use by children.
Keep the packaging and small parts out of reach of children.
DANGER DUE TO ELECTRIC CURRENT!
Only operate the device on mains with a protective earth conductor.
Observe the mains voltage of your country. The externally
accessible mains fuse on the rear of the device must only be
replaced by authorised personnel. Do not open the device.
Do not touch the speaker's binding posts when the device is
switched on.
CAUTION! HIGH-INTENSITY SOUND
Loud output signals can damage your hearing. Avoid listening at high
volume levels for long periods of time.
