Glossary of Terms and Abbreviations
This glossary includes terms and definitions from the
IBM Dictionary of Computing, SC20-1699.
AC. Alternating current.
address switch. A switch to set the device address.
configuration. The devices and programs that make up
a system.
EIA unit. A unit of measure, established by the Elec-
tronics Industries Association, equal to 44.45 millime-
ters (l.75 inches).
host. Pertaining to the primary or controlling unit in a
system.
mm. Millimeter; one thousandth (0.001) of a meter.
nut clip. A fastener.
rack. A framework that holds devices.
