7 Protective Circuit

The amplifier is provided with a protective cir-
cuit against overload, overheating and short
circuit at the speaker outputs . The power
amplifier is ventilated by a fan, the speed of
which depends on the temperature of the
power amplifier . If the temperature rise is too
high despite the ventilation, the amplifier will
be muted and the red LED "prot" (13) will
light up . In this case, turn the MASTER con-
trol (9) to zero, wait until the LED "prot" is
extinguished, then switch off the amplifier .
Eliminate the fault, e . g .:
1 . In case of overload, reduce the number of
speakers connected or, if possible, adjust
a lower power consumption on the speak-
ers . Use a second amplifier, if required (see
chapter 5 .5) .
2 . In case of overheating, provide an im-
proved air circulation .
3 . In case of a short circuit at a speaker out-
put, locate the short circuit and eliminate it .
