Using the Electronic image Stabilizer
The electronic image stabilizer (EtS) corrects slight shaking of the image being recorded and is effective
In the following situations.
• While you zoom to a distant subject.
• While you approach a small subject.
• While you walk around.
• While you record from inside a moving vehicle.
1 Set the CAM/OFF/VIDEO switch to CAM.

Press the MENU button;: The. menu display will
appear.
Press the STOP or PLAY button to select "EISA
4 Press the FF or REW button to display "ON" .
Press the MENU button.
The EIS icon W)
^ appears in the upper left comer of the viewfind¬
er or LCD monitor.
Press the Start/ Stop button to start recording.
When EIS is engaged the viewfinder or LCD
monitor image shakes with a slight delay.
Note: EfS may not function if you use a wide or
tele converter lens.
Note: It Is recommended that you do not use
the EIS function when using a tripod. The sensor
would detect vibrations from the tripod in
which case the picture would be biurred.
Notes
• When the EiS function Is engaged in the
vicinity of the zoom range with "ZOOM" dis¬
played in the viewfinder or on the LCD
monitor, when moved from the wide-angle
end, the image size will change, but this is
normal
• When the EIS function is engaged, the pic¬
ture becomes rough.
• When the EIS function is engaged, the angle
of view at the wide-angie end becomes
narrower.
Using Quick Edit
Use quick edit to search for the end of previously
recorded material, find a. particular spot on your
tape,, begin editing, or record new material. While
the camcorder is in record / pause mode hold down
the FF, REW, or PLAY button and visually search
the tape. Release the button and the camcorder
stops the tape at the exact position you selected.
Note: if the FF or REW button is pressed for quick
edit, noise will appear in the viewfiner, on the
LCD monitor, or on the connected TV.
