Using the menu, you can record on normal 8 mm tape and get picture quality equivalent to
Hi H •
If the inserted tape is not suitable for TAPE+
recording, "TAPE+ OFF" will appear and
TAPE+ recording will not be possible.
Note:
it is recommended that you use this
camcorder or a Hitachi Hi0 camcorder to
play back the tapes recorded with this func¬
tion: Other camcorders may not be able to
play back those tapes.
Note:
"ON" is not specified for the "TAPE+"
menu item, with tapes other than normal 8 mm
tapes.
Note: The "ON" specification of "TAPE+" will
switch to "OFF" automaticaiiy when the tape is
ejected, or when the power supply is removed
without the backup battery for clock being
inserted.
Note: When this function is switched to during
recording pause, noise may appear in the joint
of recordings.
Note: if TAPE+ OFF appears, the heads may be
dirty: Use a cleaning tape to clean them, and
then try TAPE+ recording again,

This camcorder automatically evaluates the tape characteristics during recording, in order to ensure
recording in optimum status.
1 Set the CAM/ OFF / VIDEO switch to CAM.
Gj Press the Start /Stop button.

Press the MENU button.
"ATRS" will appear on the screen for approxi¬
mately 5 seconds.
