Installation
7.8 Installing a communications processor
Requirements
• The rail is installed.
• In the R-CPU located to the left of the communications processor, a U-connector is
inserted on the back right.
• The R-CPU is installed.
• The number of modules of the CPs must be identical on both R-CPUs (rails).
• The redundant CPs on the rails must each be located at the same slot.
Tools required
Screwdriver with 4.5 mm blade
Installing a communications processor in the R-system

Follow these steps to install a communications processor:
1. Mount the U-connector on the back right-hand side of the communications processor.
Exception: If you are installing the last communications processor in the configuration.
2. Hook the communications processor onto the rail and slide the module up to the R-CPU.
3. Swivel the communications processor to the back.
4. Screw the communications processor tight (tightening torque 1.5 Nm).
