Installation and connection
• Only work on electrical parts if you are a qualified specialist (see section Target group and
personnel qualification (Page 20)).
• Adhere to the protective measures for safe working on electrical parts (see section
Working on electrical parts (Page 22))
• Fuse the connection cables according to the current-carrying capacity of the cable used,
taking into account the applicable standards.
• Install the device in a control cabinet. The enclosures, cabinets or electrical equipment
rooms must guarantee protection against electric
shock and spread of fire.
• Ground the device in compliance with the applicable regulations.
• For the 24 V DC supply (SELV/PELV), only use power supply units that provide safe
electrical extra-low voltage in accordance with IEC 61131-2 or IEC 61010-2-201.

Conductive pollution

Electrocution during transmission of electrical energy via conductive contamination to the
body leads to life-threatening injuries (death).
• Install the device in a control cabinet.
• Keep the control cabinet free of conductive contamination.
2.9.3

Laser radiation

The synchronization module contains a laser system and is classified as a "CLASS 1 LASER
PRODUCT" in accordance with IEC 60825-1.
Laser beams falling on the retina cause blindness.
• Avoid direct eye contact with the laser beam.
• Do not open the synchronization module.
