PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Pow er source
Ensure that the pow er source to be utilized conform s
to the pow er requirem ents specified on the product
nam eplate.
2. Pow er sw itch
Ensure that the pow er sw itch is in the OFF position. If
the plug is connected to a receptacle w hile the pow er
sw itch is in the ON position, the pow er tool w ill start
operating im m ediately, w hich could cause a serious
accident.
3. Extension cord
When the w ork area is rem oved from the pow er
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be
kept as short as practicable.
M OUNTING THE BLADE
1. Use the accessory hexagonal bar w rench to loosen
the blade set screw s on the blade holder, as show n in
Fig. 1(a).

2. Holding the blade w ith its cutting edge facing the
front, insert the m ounting portion of the blade into
the plunger groove until it touches the bottom of the
groove.
3. As show n in Fig. 1(b), firm ly clam p the side screw .
CAUTION
Loosened set screw s m ay cause the blade to be
dam aged. Alw ays ensure that the set screw s are
securely tightened. Alw ays ensure that the plunger
groove is clean and clear of saw dust to ensure proper
blade m ounting and set screw clam ping.
4. Storing the hexagonal bar w rench
(1) Insert in a hole on the side of the m ain unit w ith
holding the short side horizontally as show n in
Fig. 2.
(2) Rotate w ith the hexagonal bar w rench inserted and
secure as show n in Fig. 2.
ADJUSTING THE GUIDE ROLLER
The guide roller, show n in Fig. 3, is em ployed to prevent
the blade from snapping. Prior to use, adjust guide roller
in accordance w ith the follow ing procedures:
(1) Loosen the holder set screw w ith the accessory
hexagonal bar w rench.
(2) Gently slide the guide roller until the roller groove
lightly touches the back of the blade.
NOTE
On delivery from the factory, there is a gap of about
3m m betw een the roller and blade.
(3) Firm ly tighten the holder set screw .
CAUTION
The guide roller can be used only for Blades that
have a straight line on the rear that is longer than
50m m . (Fig. 4A and 4B) When using other types
of blades (Fig. 4C), slide the guide roller in
backw ards so that the guide roller does not contact
the blade.

continuous cutting operations, use the blade
show n in the Fig. 4A, 4B and be sure to set the
guide roller.
CHIP COVER POSITIONING
1. Chip cover
Use the chip cover to reduce flying of cut particles
and to easily operate the saw .
