9.1 Before you start
Startup is an investment for the customer.
The personnel responsible for operating and servicing the system must actively participate in the startup process.
The startup procedures are used to:
• Test the system;
• Train personnel in proper operational maintenance of the system.
The training is intended to:
• E nsurethatthepersonnelwhooperateandcarryoutroutinemaintenanceonthesystemareofferedthebestpossible
operating and safety conditions;
• A chievemaximumsystemefficiency;
• P reventcostlymaintenanceandmachinedowntimecausedbynegligenceand/orinadequateknowledge/trainingin
terms of its operating principles.
ThecontrolunithasaprotectiondegreeofIP20,thereforeitisnotsuitableforinstallationinareasexposedtoatmospheric
conditions.

9.2 First start-up instructions
9.2.1 Safety instructions

• Do not install the equipment while the power supply is connected.
• Cutoffthepowersupplytoallequipment,includinganyconnecteddevices,andremovethepowerfusesbeforeremoving
anycoversorhatches,orbeforeinstalling/uninstallingaccessories,hardware,cablesorwires.
• AlwaysuseaproperlycalibratedVoltmetertomakesurethesystemispoweredoff.
• Do not touch the unshielded components or the terminals while they are live.
• Makesurethereisaneffectiveearthconnection;ifthereisnot,earththeequipment.
• Before applying voltage to the equipment:
• Makesureallprotectiveelements,suchascovers,hatchesandgrilles,arefittedand/orclosed.
• Checkallwiringconnections.
MALFUNCTIONING OF THE EQUIPMENT
• Makesurethewatermainsiscorrectlyconnected.
• Makesurethewaterconnectionsaretightenedproperlyandeliminateanydrips.
• MakesurethattheNOsolenoidvalvecancompletelydrainthedistributionnetworkorrack,otherwisetheusershallbe
responsibleforanybacterialproliferationresultinginahealthrisk,andthemanufacturershallnotbeheldliable.
• Makesurethatthewaterqualityandflowmeetsthetechnicalrequirementsspecifiedinthechapter"5.3 INSTALLING THE
PLUMBING" ON PAGE 33.
Makesurethehumidifierandalltheinstalledcomponentsareproperlyconnectedbeforestart-up,inaccordancewith
regulations,criteriaandallapplicablelocal,regionalandnationalstandards.
Atthefirststart-up,themachineisdisableduntiltheredcaphasbeenreplacedwiththeyellowcap,andtheinletwater
conductivityhasbeenentered,afterwhichthehumidifierOFFscreenwillopenautomatically.
