6.1 Before you start

Read this manual carefully before installing the equipment.
Inparticular,thesafetyinstructions,electricalrequirementsandcurrentregulationsforthemachineortheprocessinwhich
this device is involved must be observed.
The use and application of the information contained herein requires experience in the design and installation of
humidificationsystems.Onlytheuser,integratorormanufacturerofthemachinecanbefamiliarwithalltheconditionsand
factorswhichariseduringinstallationandconfiguration,operationandmaintenanceofthemachineortheprocess,and
assuchcanidentifytherelevantautomationequipmentandthecorrespondinginterlocksandsafetysystemswhichcan
be used effectively and appropriately. When selecting automation and control equipment and other connected equipment
andsoftware,foraparticularapplication,youmustconsiderallapplicablelocal,regionalandnationalstandardsand/or
regulations.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ELECTRIC ARC
• Only use electrically insulated measuring devices and equipment.
• Do not install the equipment while the power supply is connected.
• Cutoffthepowersupplytoallequipment,includinganyconnecteddevices,beforeremovinganycoversorhatches,or
beforeinstalling/uninstallingaccessories,hardware,cablesorwires.
• Providesafetyinterlocks(isolators)ofasuitablesizebetweenthepowersupplyandthehumidifier,withacontactopening
distance of at least 3 mm for each pole.
• AlwaysuseaproperlycalibratedVoltmetertomakesurethesystemispoweredoff.
• Themaintenance,repair,installationanduseoftheequipmentmustonlybeentrustedtoqualifiedpersonnel.
• Do not touch the unshielded components or the terminals while they are live.
• Donotdisassemble,repairormodifytheproduct.
• Do not expose the equipment to liquids or chemicals.
• Makesurethereisaneffectiveearthconnection.
• Before applying voltage to the equipment:
• Makesureallprotectiveelements,suchascovers,hatchesandgrilles,arefittedand/orclosedusingatool(e.g.a
spanner).
• Checkallwiringconnections.
MALFUNCTIONING OF THE EQUIPMENT
• Performthewiringcarefully,incompliancewithelectromagneticcompatibilityandsafetyrequirements.
• Carry out a full start-up test.
• Makesurethewiringiscorrectfortheendapplication.
• Minimisethelengthoftheconnectionsasmuchaspossible,toavoidwindingthecablesaroundelectricallyconnected
parts.
• Beforeapplyingthepowersupply,checkallthewiringconnections.
• Donotconnectcablestounusedterminalsand/orterminalsmarkedwiththetext"Noconnection"(N.C.).
REGULATORY INCOMPATIBILITY
Makesurealltheequipmentusedandsystemsdesignedconformtocurrentlocal,regionalandnationalstandards.
