11. Adjust the Evenflo bypass valve.

to the gun and pump.

Open the bypass valve (K) four full turns coun-
t e r c l o c k w i s e f r o m t h e c l o s e d p o s i t i o n .
MAINTENANCE (Model 225-841 only)
1. Each day, remove and clean the strainer in the
Evenflo body, add oil to the screen cavity, and
reassemble. Refer to the Evenflo Control manual.
2 .
If the pump was shutdown without flushing and has
n o t b e e n o p e r a t e d f o r a d a y o r m o r e , d i s c o n n e c t t h e
spray gun fluid hose, turn on the pump and pump
out a small quantity of the fluid. This removes fluid
that may be set up in the hose.
3 . W h e n e v e r y o u a r e d o n e s p r a y i n g f o r t h e d a y , f o l l o w
the Presmre Relief Procedure Warning on page
7. Cover the drum to protect it from air, which may
cause the fluid to harden, and from other con-
t a m i n a n t s .

Flushing
1. Follow the Preslrure
on page 7.

R e m o v e t h e s p r a y g u n a n d c l e a n i t a c c o r d i n g t o t h e
i n s t r u c t i o n s s u p p l i e d w i t h i t .
3 .
Raise the pump out of the supply pail and hook the
e l e v a t o r o n t h e t r u c k h a n d l e .
4 .
Remove the supply pail. Wipe excess fluid off the

d. Trigger the gun, directing the spray into the
pail. If the pump does not operate, release the
trigger and close the bypass valve l/4 turn
clockwise.

pump starts when the gun is triggered.

Place a pail of non-flammable solvent on the truck.
Lower the pump.
6 .
type master air valve (Cl, open the pump Relax-A-
Valve (F) and start the pump. Circulate the solvent
a t l e a s t 1 5 m i n u t e s , t h e n c l o s e t h e R e l a x - A - V a l v e (F)
a n d s t a r t t h e p u m p . C i r c u l a t e t h e s o l v e n t a t l e a s t 1 5
minutes, then close the Relax-A-Valve.

7 .
Direct the fluid hose into the supply pail. When sol-
vent appears at the hose end, quickly transfer the
hose to the flushing pail. Allow the pump to cir-
c u l a t e t h e s o l v e n t t h r o u g h t h e p u m p a n d h o s e u n t i l
the system is clean. Change solvent frequently, if
necessary.
8. Close the Evenflo regulators and the bleed-type
m a s t e r a i r v a l v e .
Protection.
Water, or even moist air, can cause your pump to
corrode. To help prevent corrosion, NEVER leave
the pump filled with water, water-based fluid, or
air. After normal flushing, flush the pump again
w i t h m i n e r a l s p i r i t s o r o i l - b a s e d s o l v e n t a n d r e l i e v e
pressure. This leaves a thin film of mineral spirits in

If you are not using an automatic air line oiler, each day
r e m o v e t h e h o s e f r o m t h e p u m p a i r i n l e t . P l a c e a b o u t 1 5
d r o p s o f l i g h t m a c h i n e o i l i n t h e i n l e t . R e a t t a c h t h e h o s e
and turn on the air to blow the oil into the motor.
