VALVE
AND
REMPLACEMENT ENSEMBLE PILOTE
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS TO BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY
TURN OFF THE GAS TO THE MAIN BURNER AND ALLOW THE HEATER TO COOL FOR UP TO

COUPEZ LE GAZ AU BRÛLEUR PRINCIPAL ET LAISSEZ L'APPAREIL REFROIDIR PENDANT
1. Turn off the gas at the meter. / Coupez le gaz au compteur.
2. Remove the safety screen/surround and door. / Retirez l'écran de sécurité/le contour et la porte
3. Remove the burn medium and then the burner pan and then the burner tray by loosening the
screws and lifting it out. / Retirez le fluide de combustion, puis le bac du brûleur, puis le plateau du
brûleur en desserrant les vis et en le soulevant.
4. Disconnect the gas line to the appliance and disconnect the gas line from the valve to the main
orifice. / Débrancher la conduite de gaz à l'appareil et débranchez la conduite de gaz de la vanne
à l'orifice principal.
5. Remove the thumb screws holding the valve to the unit and lift valve out. / 5. Retirez les vis à
pouce qui maintiennent la vanne à l'unité et soulevez la vanne
6. Undo the pilot gas line at the gas valve. / Annuler la conduite de gaz pilote à la vanne de gaz.
7. Disconnect the thermostat or on/off switch wires from the valve (if applicable). / Débranchez le
thermostat ou marche / arrêt fils de l'interrupteur de la vanne (si applicable).
8. Remove the screws fastening the pilot assembly to the pilot bracket and remove the pilot
assembly. / Retirez les vis de fixation du assemblage de la veilleuse sur le support de pilote et
retirer l'ensemble pilote.
9. Reassemble the components in reverse order. / Remonter les composants dans l'ordre inverse.
5.0 TROUBLE SHOOTING
SYMPTOM
I. Pilot will not light after
repeated triggering of the
optional remote control –
intermittent pilot

POSSIBLE CAUSE
A. No spark at electrode (weak or not heat source for pilot ignition)
1. Improper ignition
2. Poor connections at starter and
ignition electrode
3. Broken ceramic cover on
ignition electrode
4. Battery power low or dead
B. No gas or low gas pressure
1. Gas line shut off(s) may not be
turned on
REPLACEMENT
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Align the electrode with 1/8" (3mm) gap to
pilot hood
2. Reconnect if loose
3. Replace pilot assembly
4. Replace batteries
1. Turn on shut-off valves
