TROUBLESHOOTING

Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this
component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components
and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your
dealer.
Symptom
No sound even when
source is selected.
Noise is heard even
when no input is
selected.
Power doesn't turn off.
Power turns off by
itself.
Can't see display.
The remote control
doesn't work.

Possible cause
' The input connectors are improperly
connected.
' The MUTE function is enabled ("- - - -"
appears flashing in the display).
' Sound volume is set too low.
' Noise is present in the power source itself.
' A signal is being input to the SLAVE IN jack.
' If the ECO (power-saving) mode is turned
ON, the unit will automatically enter standby
mode if no operation is performed on the
unit for 20 minutes.
' The display is set to OFF.
' The remote control's batteries are depleted.
' Distance is too far. Angle to the signal
sensor is too extreme.
' An object is interrupting the signal path.
' A strong fluorescent or other light is directed
toward the signal sensor.
Remedy
' Check connections.
' Press the MUTE button on the main unit
or the remote control to disable the MUTE
function.
' Adjust the sound volume properly.
' Confirm that no other digital appliance is
connected to the same power outlet.
' Turn power OFF at the MASTER device.
' Set the ECO (power-saving) mode to OFF (page
17).
' Press the DISP button to cancel display OFF.
' Replace batteries with new ones.
' Be sure to operate within 7 m and within a
30° angle of the remote sensor on the front
panel.
' Check that there are no obstacles between
the receiver and the remote control.
' Make sure that there is no fluorescent or
other strong light shining on to the remote
sensor.
