TROUBLESHOOTINg

Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this
component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components
and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your
dealer.
Symptom
Power does not turn
on.
No sound output.
Sound is strange.

Possible cause
The power plug is not connected to the
'
power outlet.
The power cord is not connected to the AC
'
IN connector of this unit.
The speaker cable is disconnected or is not
'
connected correctly.
The terminal or the speaker cable plug is
'
dirty.
The power indicator flashes red.
'
The BALANCED/UNBALANCED input
'
connector selector switch is set to
"UNBALANCED" even though a balanced
connection is being used.
The BALANCED/UNBALANCED input
'
connector selector switch is set to
"BALANCED" even though an unbalanced
connection is being used.
When the AUTO POWER DOWN switch is
'
set to "ON" power is suddenly disconnected
during playback.
The Bi-AMP selector switch is not set
'
correctly (TAD-M4300 only).
Remedy
Firmly plug in the power cord to the power
'
outlet.
Firmly plug in the power cord to the AC IN
'
connector.
Firmly connect the speaker cable.
'
Clean the terminal and plug.
'
Refer to
"Protection circuit" on page 15 and
'
eliminate the cause.
Set the BALANCED/UNBALANCED input
'
connector selector switch to "BALANCED".
Set the BALANCED/UNBALANCED
'
input connector selector switch to
"UNBALANCED".
When the AUTO POWER DOWN function is
'
not necessary, set the switch to "OFF".
Set the Bi-AMP selector switch properly
'
in accordance with the kind of speaker
connection used.
