2. Product introduction

2.1 ALPHA CS

ALPHA CS
ALPHA CS is designed for domestic hot-water
recirculation systems without a dedicated return
line. The comfort system comes with a bypass
valve with a thermal actuator. The built-in digital
timer makes it possible to schedule the pump's
on/off hours, helping save energy when hot water
is not required in the home.
The pump provides hot water in an instant to the
hot-water faucets in your home. Since the solution
utilizes the existing cold-water supply line as a
return line in your home, no separate new return
line is required. No electrical power is required
under the sink.
The product moreover features:
• An integrated digital timer that eliminates the
need for a physical programmable timer.
• Homeowner scheduling via the Grundfos
HOME app.
• Plug and play control mode with
AUTOADAPT.
• Easier selection with the Grundfos GO
replacement compatibility check.
• Reduced risk of flow accelerated corrosion
with flow limit.
• Reduced fluctuation in shower temperatures
with FLOWSENSE.

2.2 Intended use

This pump is intended for indoor
residential drinking water use only and is to be
considered where there is no hot-water return line
available.
The pump is lubricated and cooled by the liquid
being pumped. Therefore, the pumped liquid must
be allowed to circulate through the pump while it
is in operation.

The pump must not be used for the
transfer of flammable liquids such
as diesel oil, gasoline and similar
liquids.
The product is suitable for pumping clean, thin,
non-aggressive and non-explosive liquids without
solid particles or fibers or mineral oils.
If required, 50 % of the volume solution
of glycol and water can be used. However, a
decrease in pump performance may occur due to
an increase in the viscosity of the solution.
Contact the manufacturer for information
regarding suitability of the pump for pumping
other liquids.
The pump is designed to circulate water from 36
to 203 °F (2 to 95 °C) up to a maximum pressure
of 175 psi (12 bar), depending on the variant.
