SECTION 8 MAINTENANCE
SECTION 8. MAINTENANCE

8.1 Maintenance Schedule

All CFR boilers require routine maintenance to keep up efficiency and reliability. For best operation and
life of the unit, the following procedures should be performed in the time periods. For a complete
inspection check list see ASME CSD-1 chart.
Before servicing, ensure that the following guidelines are strictly observed:
● Follow all Lockout/Tagout protocols in effect at the site.
● Disconnect AC power supply by turning off service switch and circuit breaker.
● Shut off the gas supply at the manual shut-off valve provided with the unit.
● Allow the unit to cool to a safe water temperature to prevent burning or scalding.

8.2 Igniter-Injector
The ignitor-injector should be inspected annually and replaced at least every 24 months of operation,
sooner if there is evidence of substantial erosion or carbon build-up. Parts and instructions are included
in the 12 Month Maintenance Kit.
The igniter-injector may be hot; therefore, care should be exercised to avoid burns. It is easier to
remove the igniter-injector from the unit after the unit has cooled to room temperature. To
