3.9.1 Full ON Mode When the FM12E is attached to either vehicle power or an external power supply, or it is operating from the UPS battery and the power button is pressed, the device is in the “ON” mode. In this mode, the keypad, touch screen and any attached peripherals will function normally.
By default, the FM12E turns off if the user turns off the device through the system or presses the power button for 8 seconds with a critical shut down. The FM12E will also be off when there is no connection to a power source or the UPS battery is depleted.

The CAN Bus/ Audio connector is a D-15 male connector located on the rear side of the Vehicle Dock. The connector supports a headset adapter cable or a CAN BUS cable. The FM12E does not support connecting audio and CAN BUS simultaneously.
The FM12E equipped with internal antennas on the computer side as well as external antennas on the Vehicle Dock side. When the FM12E Computer is on the Vehicle Dock, it will by default use the external antennas on the Dock that are attached through the SMA Connectors for better signal strength. Only when the FM12E computer is removed from the dock will it use the internal antennas.
