40 Installing the accelerometers
3. Place the mounting pad between the motor fins in the desired location. Make
sure that:
•
correct motor fin mount type is used.
•
the probe is fixed between the motor fins, and the bottom of the probe is
in contact with the motor casing.
4. Press the mounting pad firmly. Make sure that:
•
bottom of mounting pad touches the motor casing, which is the contact
area to transfer vibration from motor to sensor.
•
tip of motor fin mount pad is flat against the motor casing (item 3 in below
figure) as possible.
•
mounting pad is not resting on top of the fins. If it rests on top of the fins,
make sure the bottom of the probe is not in direct contact with the motor
casing. See the below example mounting positions:

Note: The mounting pads are not included in the package. You must order
them separately.
Mount the sensors
Mount the accelerometers on the mounting pads with screws into the pad or
triaxial mounting base.
Recommended mounting torque: 2.7 Nm to 6.8 Nm
