Foreword These operating instructions provide you with detailed information concerning system set up and maintenance of your new Helipede Rotary Windrower. In addition, the instructions also include safety instructions which ensure safe employment of the machine. The operating instructions contain descriptions of all the available equipment, the various models and all of the special and additional pieces of equipment which are not usually included in the delivery.
Safety For your safety On delivery, your dealer gave you an explanation of the operation and maintenance of the implement. Please read these operating instructions before operating the implement for the first time. It is essential that you observe all of the safety instructions. Parts of the text which are of particular importance are marked with a pictogram.
Nameplate The type plate specifying the machine type and serial number is mounted on the main frame on the front left-hand side. Note: Enter the data on the nameplate in the box provided on page 3. Application as stipulated The Helipede Rotary Windrower is built solely for use in the field of agricultural work and is intended and suitable for the processing of blades of grass and haulms which have been mown and are lying on the ground.

2. The following regulations must be observed: all applicable local accident prevention regulations, all recognized traffic, safety and industrial medical regulations, the system limits and safety instructions listed in the technical manual. 3. Any work on the implement should be carried out using suitable, tools and apparatus in perfect condition.
Safety warning labels and pictorial warning signs Attention! Complete safety means that you are familiar with and understand all of the safety warning labels. This means you must be fully aware of the type of dangers being warned against, exactly where they could occur and in particular, the appropriate safety measurement to employ.

2. Attention! Before using the implement, bring all the safety guards into position. 3. You must read all maintenance and repair work instructions before carrying out any maintenance or repair work. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. 4. Keep away from the moving rotary stars. Before operating the Helipede Rotary Windrower, make sure that no-one is within reach of the implement! Before switching on the p.t.o., make sure that no-...

6. Do not step between the tractor and the implement. Danger of being caught or squeezed! 7. Do not lift the implement right up. The maximum permitted height of the rear reflector is 0.9 m above the ground. 8. When using the third support wheel, the upper guide rod must be mounted in the longitudinal hole of the headstock! 9.
Authorized operators Youths under the age of 16 may not operate the Helipede Rotary Windrower. The owner of the implement must provide the operator with the operating instructions and make sure that they have read and understood them. Only then may the implement be put into operation. The allocation of responsibilty for the various tasks on the implement must be clearly determined and complied with.
10.When mounting or dismounting the support devices, make sure that they are in the appropriate prescribed position in order to ensure stability! Only deposit the implement on level and solid ground. 11.Ballast weights are only to be installed to the points designed for this purpose! 12.Do not leave the engine on within closed spaces (indoors)! 13.Before start up and operation, inspect the area around you.
1.8.3 Power take-off operation Only valid for p.t.o.-driven implements. 1. Do not use p.t.o. shafts other than those specified by the manufacturer! Make sure that the p.t.o. shaft is always properly installed and secured! The guard tube as well as the p.t.o shaft guard must be installed.
3. Repairing or mounting tyres and wheels may only be carried out by skilled workers using appropriate tools! 4. Check the inflation pressure at regular intervals. Take notice of the prescribed inflation pressure (1.5 bar)! Safety when implement is not in use or is in storage 1.
9. Do not clean the machine with aggressive washing agents. This can cause corrosion to polished metal surfaces, e.g. hydraulic cylinders. 1.11 Safety instructions for the Helipede Rotary Windrower 1. General safety instructions are contained in this documentation and in the accident prevention regulations VSG 1.1 vom 01.01.2000 of the German "Landwirtschaftliche Berufsgenossenschaft"...

10.Do not step between the tractor and the implement. Danger of being caught or squeezed! 11.Stay clear of the lifting area of the three-point mounting when operating the lifting unit! 12.After approx. 5 operating hours, all screw connections must be inspected and if necessary, retightened.
1.12 Calculation of axle loads Combination of tractor and mounted implement The mounting of implements at front and rear three-point linkage of bars is never to exceed the tractor‘s maximum permitted total load weight or the load capacity. The tractor‘s front axles are to be loaded with 20% of the tractor‘s unloaded weight minimum.

Operation Mounting on the tractor Danger! The implement should be at a stand-still whenever maintenance, repairs or adjustments are carried out. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Only for the first mounting: Mounting the p.t.o. to the implement: 1.
Modifying the drive shaft to suit the tractor The p.t.o. stub position varies with different tractors and for this reason it may be necessary to shorten the drive shaft. Check the length of the shaft before first use as follows: Danger! The implement should be at a stand-still whenever maintenance, repairs or...
Remove projecting tine carriers and place on the front traverse support (d). Secure the gyro guard. Changing over from transport to operational configuration Danger! The implement should be at a stand-still whenever maintenance, repairs or adjustments are carried out. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key.
Adjusting the height of the tines Danger! The implement should be at a stand-still whenever maintenance, repairs or adjustments are carried out. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. 1. Lower the three-point mounted implement before adjusting it. The machine only works neatly when the lower guide rods are in the float position! 2.
Operating the implement Adjust a travelling speed at which the harvested crop is neatly picked up. The power take-off shaft speed must be adjusted to the state of the feed crop (460 rpm = ideal power take-off shaft speed = 1800 rpm engine speed). Do not allow the slip clutch to run for longer than 10 seconds. Change to a slower speed in the event of overload.
Maintenance of the implement Danger! Maintenance work may only be carried out when the implement is uncoupled! General The implement must be thoroughly checked after the first five hours of operation. All nuts and bolts, particularly those of the spring tines, rotor arms and axles, should be checked and tightened where necessary.

Lubrication chart 30 h 100 h 30 h 30 h In the lubrication chart all lubrication points are shown by dots or arrows. Maintenance and lubrication at the intervals prescribed will ensure a long life for your implement. Use K 2 k grease which satisfies DIN 51825, e. g. "Deutzer Oel", "HFL 300 W"...
Extra and additional equipment Danger! The implement should be at a stand-still whenever maintenance, repairs or adjustments are carried out. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Tine loss safety device The flexible plastic tine holders are easy to fit and remove.

Jockey wheel In order to ensure that all the crop is gathered from uneven terrain and that the surface is not damaged, an optional jockey wheel can be mounted close to the working area of the tines. When using this feature, please ensure that the arm (c) is not directly on the universal shaft when lifting out of the curve! Re-adjust the lower guide rods if necessary.

Mounting on the tractor: Move the top link from one of the drill holes on the lower part of the three-point mounting to the oblong drill hole above (s). Use the special bolts provided. Insert the bolt (b) through the longitudinal holes and upper guide rods from the one side and the collar bush (h) with the short side (Kat.

Hillside brake (only type, 6589) With extreme slopes it is possible that the machine will exert a pushing force. In such instances the machine will rise at the front and the gyro will lift off the ground so that fodder is no longer picked up. This effect is favoured by a steep upper link.
Appendix Torque values for international metric thread joints All bolted joints must be torqued in accordance with the values given in this table unless otherwise indicated. On this machine '8.8' is both the standard and minimum quality used. Attention! When lock bolts or lock nuts are used the given value must be increased by 10%. r o f a i r y t i l...
