Troubleshooting
Before calling a service technician, please check the following table for possible causes of the problem and
some solutions.
Problem
°P7 will not turn on
Solution
• Make sure the power cord is plugged in, and then press POWER.
• The remote control batteries may be dead. Replace the batteries or
press the POWER button on the °PT.
No picture, no sound
• Check the antennalcable
connections.
No sound, picture OK
• The sound may be muted. Press MUTE or VOLUME
• T.
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another channd.
Poor sound, picture OK
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another channd.
Poor picture, sound OK
• Check the antenna connections.
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another channd.

Adjust

Poor reception of broadcast channels
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another channel.
• Check the antenna connections.
• If you ,-ireusing a VCR, make sure the °I_qVCR button is set
correctly.
Cannot receive above channel 13
• Make sure the °PC/CABLE _ature in the SET UP menu is set to °I_f.
Unable to select a certain channel
• The channel may be locked out with the Block Channel lock _ature
(SET UPIV-Chip Control menu), or erased with the AddlErase
_cature (SET UP menu).
Multiple im_es
Poor color or no color
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another channel.
• Use a highly directional outdoor antenna.
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y another ch,-mnel.
• Adjust the TINT ,-mdlor COLOR in the PICFURE
menu.
• If you ch,-mgethe direction of the °I_f while it is turned on, the
picture could suffer from color shading. If so, turn the °I_f off and
allow"it to cool down for several hours before turning it on again.
No stereo or SAP sound from a
known MTS broadcast
• Make sure the MTS f_ature is set properly (AUDIO menu).
The remote control does not operate
The V-Chip PIN code does not work
• Make sure the °P¢/CABLEIVCR
switch is set properly.
• There may be an obstrtlction between the remote control and the
remote control sensor.
• The remote control batteries may be dead. Replace the batteries.
• Change or reset the PIN code.
