ADJUSTING SUPPORT FOOT (FIG. 18)
The support foot is located on the bottom of the
miter arm. It provides additional support when
making cuts.
Turn the support foot clockwise or
counterclockwise depending on the amount of
support needed for making sliding cuts.
TRANSPORTING
WARNING
before transporting the saw.
Never lift this saw by grasping the base
extensions when they are in the extended
position.
Never lift the saw by gripping any of the
mechanism parts. The saw may move and
cause severe injuries to your fingers or hands.
To avoid back injury, hold the tool close
to your body when lifting. Bend your knees
so you can lift with your legs, not your back.
Lifting the saw from the back is the preferred
method. This will tip the tool toward your
body.
Never lift the tool by holding the main
handle. This may cause serious damage to
the tool.
Place the saw on a firm, level surface
where there is plenty of room for handling
and properly supporting the workpiece.
ONLY lift this saw by carry handles defined
in this manual.
Preparing to lift the saw
a. Set the bevel angle at 0° and lock it in place,
using the bevel-lock lever.
b. Lock both side-table extensions in the inward
positions.
c. Rotate the table to either 45° right or 45° left
and lock it in place with the miter-lock lever.
d. Loosen the slide-rail lock knob to slide
the head assembly through the sliding
mechanism until the position shown in the
Fig. 19a is attained. Then lock the sliding rail
system using the slide rail lock knob.
To avoid possible injury,
